Sarah + Andrew's Versailles Wedding
From the Bride: Our love story has been unique and special, and we wanted a wedding that reflected our story. When searching for venues, we entertained many options. Would we get married in one of our small midwestern hometowns? Would we choose a lavish ballroom? Would it be a destination wedding? We couldn't decide. When we happened across the Kentucky Castle we knew that it was the perfect backdrop for our perfect wedding. I loved watching Andrew approach me moments before the first look, as I overlooked him from the chalet balcony. It truly felt like a fairytale. I love hearing our two nieces giggling as they spun around their "princess dresses" in the castle of their fairytales.
Although our lives are blessed with many close friends and family members, we wanted our special day to be about our love story. We decided that a small, intimate gathering was what was in our hearts. There would be plenty of time to celebrate with those closest to us for the rest of our lives. Our dream was a simple, elegant wedding where we would be free to focus on what was most important at that moment, each other. After almost a year of not seeing or hugging family due to COVID, by far the most memorable touch from the wedding were the hugs shared amongst family members.
Our dream was realized that day. We couldn't be more lucky to have found each other, and to spend our special day promising ourselves to one another in the most perfect setting. We read our vows and dined with loved ones. The chef at the Kentucky Castle prepared a delicious gourmet meal for us and our guests...and we may have made a midnight McDonalds run. We toasted a lifetime of happiness in the setting Kentucky sun surrounded by a majestic castle. Thank you to everyone who made our magical day possible!
