Miriam + Ross's Spindletop Wedding

From the Bride: Most people envision their wedding taking place during the warm weather months. Most women want the colors pink and purple. But not me! I have always wanted a winter wedding. And not just in January or February, but specifically in December. My favorite color? Red. Give me all the red, golds and greens. Luckily, I was able to bring my winter wedding dream to fruition, but not without having to postpone due to a pandemic. We were originally supposed to get married on 12/19/2021, but postponed to 12/11/2022. We could have postponed to the summer of 2022 in order to get married sooner, but I just couldn't imagine having a wedding in any month besides December. In order to carry the theme through out the day, I chose a dress with long sleeves and helped create the biggest bow possible. The bow made the dress and I still love it so, so much. I also created my own napkin rings. That took a lot of hours, but goodness, they looked amazing and I am so proud of how they turned out. I was able to tie in all of the colors with the green velvet bridesmaids dresses and the green velvet table runners. The flower girls wore muted gold sequin dresses with green cardigans and wintery headpieces. My son and nephew looked absolutely dapper in their holiday bubbles, knee high socks and saddle oxfords!

Because we were still in the middle of a pandemic, we opted to have a very small and intimate wedding as we wanted to be as safe as possible. While I was sad that not all of the people I would have liked to have at our wedding weren't there, our wedding was perfectly cozy. We were able to enjoy each and every guest and each other! We danced their first dance to “You Are The Reason” by Calum Scott and Leona Lewis.

I think the best parts of the day were getting ready with my girlfriends in the morning, enjoying the crisp weather, enjoying our intimate dinner with our closest family and friends and, of course, finally marrying my best friend.

Bride’s Advice: Be prepared to postpone in the off chance there is a pandemic.
