Jenna + Palmer's Lexington Wedding

From the Bride: When your high school English teacher tells you that someday you are going to marry a guy in your class, they may not be as crazy as you think. Before Palmer and I even began dating, people knew we were meant to be together. After becoming high school sweethearts and dating for almost nine years, Palmer and I were finally married on 4.3.21.

With Kentucky’s weather being so unpredictable, a week full of snow before our wedding had us beginning to second guess our decision to have an outdoor wedding. However, to our great excitement, we ended up being blessed with the most gorgeous spring day! Zorro was everything we had always envisioned for our dream wedding. We exchanged our vows in front of the handmade arbor my father-in-law created outside on a hill that embodied the true beauty of Kentucky, and all of our friends and family had a perfect view. A string quartet on the balcony overlooked our guests and played “What a Wonderful World,” “Let This Be Our Prayer,” and “The Bridal March.” Large wooden doors slowly opened as I walked down the cobblestone aisle with my dad to my future husband. It was truly the fairy tale wedding I always dreamed of having. After waiting almost nine long years to get married, having such an amazing afternoon assured each of us that 4.3.21 was the day that we were meant to be married!

I will forever cherish the memories made the night before our big celebration with my wonderful bridesmaids, mother, and grandmother at the venue. We then started the wedding day off bright and early with a group Pilates workout, before getting hair and makeup started. I can’t begin to express how much it meant to me to be surrounded by so many special family and friends for every moment of the day as I prepared to finally marry my best friend!

One of the most special parts of the wedding day festivities were the handmade feathered bow ties worn by my husband and his groomsmen. It was amazing how perfectly they matched our flowers! The ties were made by a close family friend, who was just one of many people to do something special for us on our perfect day! After exchanging our vows, we moved inside to the reception to celebrate our status as newlyweds with our family and friends. The reception kicked off with a cocktail hour featuring cocktails named after our pet dog and bunny, Nellie and Lola. Dinner was catered by one of our favorite local restaurants, and the meal was capped off with five flavors of delicious cake and gelato. We danced the night away with our loved ones, and once the time had quickly melted away, my husband and I exited the venue through a veil of sparklers!
