Cory + Mackenzie's Merefield Farm Wedding
From the Bride and Groom: Cory and I knew we didn’t want a huge formal affair. It’s just not who we are. We just wanted the people celebrating with us to see who we are together and make the day as enjoyable as possible. For example, we both love coffee and our first date was in a coffee shop so the first vendor we contacted was the Tincan Coffee Roasters. The idea of having a coffee trailer just fit so perfect, and the smell was awesome! Pizza and donuts are also some of our food faves so we shopped local and called up some of our favorite hometown food spots to round out the reception food.
Our first look was so special, I’ll never forget when Mackenzie touched me on the shoulder for our first look, it was then that I knew it would be me and her for the rest of the day and our lives.
The ceremony was filled with many meaningful moments to us. Our flower dude has been like a big brother to me for most of my life and he certainly lightened the mood before I walked down the aisle although now I can’t say I was the only one who kissed my husband on my wedding day! We planted a tree for our unity ceremony as a symbol of being rooted together in our faith in Jesus Christ and growing upward in our new life together. After the tree planting we had a time of prayer with our friends and family and that feeling of being uplifted by everyone around us is something that we will not ever forget. As part of our unity ceremony we invited our friends and family to pray over us and our marriage. The sound of our loved ones offering up prayers on our behalf and feeling their support spiritually is truly an experience we will never forget.
Cory’s dance with his daughter, Gracie, was one of the most special parts of our wedding. It was such a beautiful thing to see him and her have that special moment - it turned our day into “our day. Just being ourselves made our wedding so much fun and that’s something we wouldn’t change about our day!
