Carly + Adam's Crestwood Wedding

From the Bride: Our wedding day was a perfect mix of love and unforgettable details, to the carefully chosen elements reflecting our Italian heritage and deep family connections. It started with the proposal in Savannah, Georgia when Adam proposed with a custom ring that included diamonds from both my mother-in-law and grandmother, setting the tone for our celebration's uniqueness. The personal touch extended to my wedding band, adorned with diamonds passed down from my grandmother. On our wedding day, we included a dedicated table featuring photos of loved ones who have passed on, ensuring their presence on our special day.

Our commitment to making the day uniquely ours was unmistakable in the details, such as the ginkgo leaves on our welcome sign – a nod to our first apartment together in Old Louisville. The arch crafted by Adam and his father became the backdrop for our vows, adding another personal touch to the ceremony. The reception centered around a black and white dance floor, echoing the significance of dancing in our relationship, one of our favorite date night activities. Our signature drinks were named after our dogs, Dobie and Ron, emphasizing the importance of family, even the four-legged members!

We danced our first dance to “Wildflowers & Wine” by March King Band. While we had a blast dancing with family and friends, one of the most memorable moments was our last dance to "Love You for a Long Time" by Maggie Rogers. We ran around the dance floor together, scream singing, laughing and taking in the last few minutes of our wedding day. We left Yew Dell Botanical Gardens that night in Adam's late grandfather's Alfa Romeo—a full-circle moment, as this car is what took us to our first date, engagement photos, and significant moments of our relationship. Our wedding day was absolutely perfect and genuinely encapsulated our love for each other and the family and friends who came before us to make it all possible.

Bride’s Advice: Don’t get overwhelmed by all the trends you see on social media and ideas thrown at you by others. The most important part of your wedding is to have everything be authentic and true to what you and your partner love and want. Also, take a private moment for you and your new spouse after the ceremony! The day goes by so fast and I’m so glad we had a few moments to just be alone and soak in all of the emotions from the day before walking into the reception.
