Callie + Gunnar's Lexington Wedding

From the Bride: Our unforgettable day took place on an unforgettable date. 4.3.21. We worked together to plan an elegant and timeless event surrounded by friends and family from near and far. I started my day surrounded by my bridesmaids at my childhood home. The day started with mimosas, coffee, and a made-to-order omelet bar seated around the kitchen table sharing memories, wiping happy tears, and filling the kitchen with laughter. The groom and groomsmen started their morning at the Keene Manor driving range, followed by sandwiches from the Lexington Farmers Market before getting ready for the day. The girls took over my childhood home doing hair, make-up, and dancing around to classic throw backs. My mother transformed my childhood bedroom into a stylish “bridal suite” equipped with mirrors for each girl and a photo wall for inspiration displaying pictures of my family members on their wedding days. I got ready for the day under the wedding photos of her grandparents, parents, sisters, and cousins. The wedding morning was a highlight of my day as it could be described as relaxing, cheerful, and comfortable while focused on family, friends, and love.

I dressed in a one shoulder, satin, tight fitted BHLDN gown. The bridesmaids looked stunning in different nude, taupe, gold, and champagne dresses while the groom and groomsmen looked dashing in green suits. We carried bouquets of greenery down the aisle. The Ceremony took place at Centenary United Methodist Church and the reception took place at Limestone Hall. We chose not to do a first look. Gunnar first saw me as the chapel doors opened wide, immediately bringing tears down his cheek. The highlight of the ceremony was the reading of our personal vows where we vowed in their own words to love, support, and encourage one another, leaving no dry eye in the room.

After the heartfelt ceremony, we all headed downtown to celebrate. While the bridal party took roof top photos, wedding guests participated in a cocktail hour including a caricature artist that drew personalized photos of the guests. The venue featured custom C&G marquee letters and large, white, lighted Birch Trees to go with the theme of lights, greenery, and elegance. The meal began with a blessing shared by the groom’s mother. We shared our first meal as a married couple at an intimate sweetheart table. Behind us was a wall of string lights intertwined with stems of greenery. Lovely speeches were delivered by my sisters, a hilarious message was given by the best man, and my father shared sweet words to the newlyweds. Following the delicious meal, we cut the cookie cake and guests flooded to the cookies and milk station for dessert! We opened up the dance floor with a first dance full of spins and twirls on the glass floor of the venue’s third floor rotunda. Guests enjoyed a night of dancing and celebrating. The unforgettable night ended with a sparkler send off as we walked, dipped, and kissed down the grand staircase of Limestone Hall into their happily ever after.
