Hailey + Elliot's Bowling Green Wedding
From the Bride: Our wedding day was something we had both been anxiously awaiting and was counting down to, our wedding date within itself was a countdown (4.3.21). On 4.3.21 we became one and united in marriage, we got married one year to the date exactly from our first date. We started our day in the bride and groom’s room while we got ready. Once we were dressed we read letters that we had written, and opened our wedding gifts to each other. It was then time for first looks. I had a first look with my dad, which was so special. Then I had a first look with my future husband. We both melted once we saw each other. We wanted our day to be focused on us, so we had a maid of honor and best man that walked down the aisle and then they took a seat once they got to the end of the aisle.
I was the only person to walk down the stair case in the venue, there was two doors on each side of the stair case. My dad exited out of one door and waited on the top of the stair case for me, and then I exited the opposite door and it was so special when I saw my dad waiting for me and once I made it to my dad I looked up and saw my future husband waiting for at the end of the aisle crying as my dad and I walk down the stair case and aisle together. Our minister stood with us as we stood alone surrounded by our loved ones for a circular ceremony as we said our "I do's". We had a traditional wedding ceremony where we said traditional vows. When my husband and I kissed for the first time as husband and wife. It was like no one else was in the room, and it felt like fireworks were going off because there was such a spark.
After our ceremony we went into cocktail hour. Our guest were served hors d'oeuvre during cocktail hour. We did not make an appearance during cocktail hour because we spent that time alone for the first time as husband and wife and we reflected on our day, and had a moment to our selves and that is a moment we will both cherish. Once cocktail hour was over we were introduced as husband and wife and entered into the reception, and went right into our first dance. After a meal was served our wedding party gave speeches and our guests made their way to the champagne wall to grab glasses and make a toast. Following we opened the dance floor up for all the guests, and we danced the night away. As we exited our magical day our guests lined up outside for a sparkler exit, and we went on our way as husband and wife.
A special part of the day is having a seat reserved in honor of my grandmother that passed away. My grandmother had ordered her outfit for my wedding before I was even engaged. She passed away before we got engaged, so she had a seat reserved during the ceremony with the outfit she had picked out and her shoes she was going to wear to the wedding.
My best friend had a book made for me that had letters from special people in my life that I read while getting ready. (In-laws, Sunday school teachers, and people who has impacted my life over the years)
