Arleigh + Joshua's Milton Wedding!

From the Bride: Our wedding was a whole weekend event! We were able to host many of our family and friends on the wedding venue site. There were cabins and houses on the property which made it feel like a big family reunion weekend. On Friday night we invited everyone to a welcome party with a food truck and drinks outside at our venue. Every guest had to travel to attend our wedding, so instead of a traditional rehearsal dinner we instead had only the wedding party and immediate family attend the rehearsal with some charcuterie and wine. After the rehearsal, we hosted the welcome party at the venue with a taco truck. There were a few toasts and some music. After the guests left, the wedding party and family staying on site with us were able to hang out at the pool and fire pits that were at the venue.

On Saturday, there was a continental breakfast provided for all of the on-site guests. It was so much fun to be with all of our close family and friends on such a special morning. We had breakfast together and then the girls went to one room in the house to get ready and the boys went to a separate room. We all had mimosas and a super fun playlist playing in the girls’ room. All of the bridesmaids were in matching pajamas and I was in my bride pajamas. Once we were all finished with our hair and makeup, we had a little dance party all together. The dance party with all my favorite girls is one of my favorite memories from the day.

During Josh and I’s first look, we read our handwritten vows privately to each other. It was so special to us because we were able to read them to each other without the pressure of the audience during the ceremony. After the ceremony, we had all of the guests move to the front of the venue to take a massive group photo, which we used to make our thank you cards! We danced our first dance to “Lover” by Taylor Swift. Halfway through the reception, I changed into a short & sparkly white dress and we brought out the glow sticks for a super fun time!

Bride’s Advice: Take a deep breath! It will be the most amazing day no matter what. If you pay attention to every single tiny detail, it’s inevitable that something will go wrong. Just enjoy this special time and remember the best thing about this is you are marrying your person!
