Amber + John Paul's Lexington Wedding

From the Bride: We were blessed to be able to join our lives together in the place where we met, downtown Lexington. JP and I live in an historic home on North Limestone, so the newly restored Limestone Hall made for the perfect venue. Our wedding made use of the space in a unique way, seating our guests in an octagonal shape that reflected the architecture of building's soaring rotunda and the glass floor that sits beneath it. We walked down the aisle to the music of a string quartet and met at a dais bedecked in flower baskets and palm trees.

After the ceremony, we used both of the old courtrooms to treat our guests to a fabulous spread provided by Darae & Friends. Perhaps our greatest gift was the lifting of COVID restrictions that came right before the wedding, which meant that we were able to have our first post-pandemic, large gathering of friends and family at our wedding. Rather than a sea of masks, we were treated to smiling faces. We will always remember all of the laughter of our friends and family who were overjoyed to come together for the first time in a large gathering since the pandemic. We waited a year past our original wedding date for the chance to have our family with us, and we were able to have our dream wedding.

Once dinner was done and the champagne cake from Martine's Pastries was cut, we all reconvened under the dome to dance the night away. The glass octagon made for a perfect dance floor. The feel of my husband's arms as we had our first dance to Lady May by Tyler Childers, was one of my favorites memories of the day. All of the laughter that filled the venue. Our friends and family were overjoyed to come together for the first time in a large gathering since the pandemic. celebration in Limestone Hall ended as we walked down the courthouse steps to a line of sparklers. From there, we hosted a casual after party for our guests at Hugo's, where we had our first dance on our first date.
