Erin + Kyle's Intimate December Wedding
From the bride: We always knew we wanted a cozy Christmas wedding, so we set our wedding date for our 5th anniversary together. When Kyle asked me to be his girlfriend in December of 2015, he did so with a Minnie Mouse bracelet as I was leaving for a family trip to Disney. Tarzan was the first movie we watched together that year and Walt Disney World has since become a favorite destination of ours, which is why we chose to have a gold “Hidden Mickey” placed on our wedding cake! People of all ages loved that little detail. The groom’s cake was made to look like tree bark and placed on a base of deer antlers to incorporate his love of hunting and the outdoors.
Erin says, “My most memorable sight was when I went to the venue early with my bridesmaids and saw all the details being set up beforehand. It made the day feel like reality instead of just a dream! 20 West is such a unique venue and I thought all of the décor was incredible.”
Our flowers were made up of a beautiful mix of red and green, which inspired the details of the hand-painted Bible that was gifted to us for use during the ceremony. Our flowers also tied into our pine tree invitation suite that matched other signage throughout, as well as our personal vow books. Despite all of the changes we had to make due to the coronavirus, our wedding day was everything we dreamed of and more. Our bar napkins featured a gold silhouette of our dog’s face and our signature drink was also named after him to be sure he was included in the day. The signature drink was also featured on the groom and groomsmen’s socks!
Kyle says, “The best taste I had all day was when I finally got to bite into my groom’s cake! The inside was cookies and cream, while the outside was chocolate and peanut butter – all of my favorite flavors tied into one.”
We had custom Jones Soda bottle favors with our engagement photos on them to show off our new last name, and they were such a hit! Almost all of our guests took multiple bottles and we love that our favor was so unique. To end the night, we had a biodegradable fake snow send off and it felt like pure magic! Our send off sign featured a quote from the poem ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas.’
