Hillary + Daniel's Cozy December Wedding

From the bride: Our venue was one of our favorite things about our wedding. After we took a tour and spoke with Ashley about the details, we went up to the dining room for dinner with our immediate families. We all just looked at each other and said, "This is It!" The tall wooden walls and vaulted ceilings fit right into our classic woodsy Christmas theme. We are lake people and being able to have such a nice view of Lake Barkley was also a bonus. Some of our favorite wedding pictures are the ones taken on the dock. Our flowers for the wedding were even better than I could have imagined. Martha added touches of antlers and pinecones to keep adding to our woodsy theme. My husband is a hunter and she was able to create shotgun shell boutonnieres for him and his best man. It was something special for Daniel and seeing him smile ear to ear about it told me we made the right decision.

Everything about our wedding was beautiful but I would say one of our favorite things about it was having Daniel's Step Dad, Stacey Darnall, officiate our wedding. Stacey's dad used to be a preacher and would officiate weddings all the time. He wrote down the dates and names of every wedding he ever officiated in his bible. It was such a special moment having Stacey officiate our wedding with his dad's bible and writing us in after the ceremony. Hillary says, “My most memorable sight from our wedding was seeing my husband pop up from under my wedding dress with a Christmas face mask on instead of holding a traditional garter during the garter dance. Everyone was laughing!”

Special details included custom cocktails in honor of the bride and groom. The groom’s drink was a Horse’s Neck (bourbon and ginger ale with bitters) and the bride’s drink was a Frosted Cranberry Margarita. Hillary says, “My most memorable sound from our wedding was hearing our family laughing and dancing around us at the reception. Planning a wedding during COVID-19 was hard and hearing that made all of the struggle worth it.”
