Jessica + Tristan's Murray Wedding
From the Bride: While COVID-19 forced us to cut our guest list down, our wedding day was nothing short of perfect. Tristan and I wanted a simple, yet beautiful and unique wedding and our vendors helped create that picture perfectly. We chose to decorate with shades of purple and rich greenery to create a whimsical and romantic feel. Our tented garden wedding was embellished with wooden farm tables and golden rings everywhere. My bridesmaids carried golden floral rings down the aisle against their beautiful wisteria colored dresses. Our favorite moment from our wedding day was our exchange of vows. We chose to keep our vows short and sweet but meaningful. During our exchange, we were both overcome with emotions. Emotions of love, joy, excitement, and so much more. It was the moment I had been dreaming of for the duration of our 9 year dating relationship. I carried the image of Tristan my whole life, and this was the moment that joined us together as one- the beginning of a life full of love and joy.
Having grown up with my grandparents as my guardians, I have always dreamed of the moment my grandfather would walk me down the aisle to give me away to my husband. However, in the past couple of years my grandfather’s health plummeted and I wasn’t sure that dream would ever be reality. Despite all the odds against him, he wasn’t settling for anything less than holding my arm down the aisle. It was such a sweet moment that I had prayed for my whole life. Fast forward and it was time for the father-daughter dance but Grandaddy wasn’t feeling up to it. I was thankful he was able to walk me down the aisle and I was okay with sitting this one out. However, my brothers had something else in mind. I didn’t get to dance with my grandfather, but I did get to spend that time dancing with my brother, two of my brother-in-laws, and ended the last moments of the song dancing with my nephew. These men mean the world to me and I couldn’t have asked for anything more.
Tristan and I will cherish our wedding day for a lifetime. A special detail that I love about our wedding is that the family of my best friend of 14 years planned and decorated my entire day. Not only did they bring my dreams to reality, they were able to experience every precious moment with me along the way. It was such a sweet and special day!
