Katie + Patric Tie the Knot in Kentucky
From the Bride: We met last summer in Chennai, India, at our mutual friends’ wedding. Patric is Indian but has lived and worked in Singapore for the past six years; I’m American but have lived and worked in South Korea for the past two years. We wanted to have a western wedding. With so many international guests, we wanted everyone to meet at a semi-central place. We ended up choosing Milton, KY after finding this beautiful venue online! Our clothes and cake are by far the highlights! I wore my mother’s gown from her wedding in 1984. She removed those iconic 80’s puff sleeves and shipped it to me in Korea, where I took it to an alteration shop for slight modifications. He wore a tuxedo from a Singaporean shop that had it tailored in Thailand. Our cake was from my previous employer who I worked for in high school washing dishes. His bow tie was black velvet from a wedding show we visited together in Singapore. We planned the entire wedding from overseas and it was just magical to see it all come together so smoothly. It was truly a reunion on both of our sides - not to mention the first time our families actually met each other! (and that we met each other's family!).
