Allison and Victor's Winery Wedding
From the Bride: Family has always been the center of both our lives so we implemented several unique details that helped portray our values and the joining of two families into one. At the center of the entrance to our reception, we had a table set up to display wedding pictures of our grandparents and parents. This served as a beautiful reminder to our guests that none of us would have been there that day if it hadn't been for those couples falling in love. My something old was my garter that was made from my own mother’s veil. My mother-in-law blessed me with her pearl wedding necklace to wear as my something borrowed. She was in tears when she clasped it around my neck. Having these items on my big day was such an honor.
My father passed away when I was 12 years old, so to honor him we projected a video of him playing guitar and singing to me in place of a Daddy/Daughter dance. There was not a dry eye in the room and it was a very special moment for my entire family. My mother escorted me down the aisle and gave me away to my handsome groom. I also surprised my mother by having a mother/daughter dance to "our song" toward the end of our reception. We were blessed to have Victor's cousin as our officiant, who Victor has always viewed as a role model.
My absolute favorite moment of our big day was sharing our personal vows we had written for one another. Expressing our heartfelt words backed by our raw emotion was absolutely incredible. Victor's favorite moment was the instant he saw me walking down the aisle. He said that I immediately took his breath away and I must admit the look on his face was unforgettable. If I could give one piece of advice to future brides it would be to cherish every single moment of your big day. Take in every little detail and every single minute. Try your best not to stress and never forget what your big day is all about- celebrating your love!
