Shelby + Dylan's Pretty Christmas Wedding

From the Photographer: Shelby and Dylan always knew they wanted their special day to be filled with a strong sense of family, friends, and intimacy. Before the ‘I do’s’, there was a lot of hands-on planning done by the couple. After they were engaged, they began exploring venues, seeking a place that would honor their Kentucky roots while offering a cozy and elegant feel for their 2019 winter wedding. They chose the Galerie in Versailles, a former church turned event space, to host their ceremony and reception. The venue offered a historical feel with a modern vibe- exactly what the couple was looking for.

The bride took a hands-on approach to the wedding planning process, utilizing templates to create invitations, seating charts, and table numbers. To bring their cozy yet elegant vision to life, the large windows in the former chapel were decked with garland and candles, and the tables decorated with a mix of gold vases and arrangements curated with the help and artistic eye of the florist.

By having the wedding and reception at the same venue, they felt they were able to keep the momentum and energy of their special day going strong. The ceremony space was transformed into the reception area during cocktail hour, where guests sipped signature cocktails inspired by the season, and later enjoying a Kentucky inspired menu - a hit with the out of town guests. December 21, 2019, consisted of makeup and mimosas for the bride and her crew in the morning, bourbon and bowties for the guys in the afternoon, and plenty of love, dancing, and celebrating for all into the night.
