Natural and Fun Churchill Weaver Wedding

Hannah and Larry David’s Special Wedding at Churchill Weavers

From the bride: Our day began with the bridal party getting ready at the historic Boone Tavern Hotel. We then headed over to Churchill Weaver's, to add the finishing touches before the ceremony. We wanted our ceremony to be a reflection of the love Jesus has shown us. We did this through a foot washing. We wanted our first act of service toward each other to demonstrate the humility Jesus showed his disciples. The feeling we both had after exiting the ceremony was unreal. I can remember us looking at each other, laughing, and yelling "we're married!” That was the sweetest moment of simultaneous overwhelming joy, and stillness - truly indescribable.

Larry David and I agree that there were so many surreal moments throughout this day. One of my favorite parts of the day was spending it with all the women I am closest to. I am so blessed by the community I have been given. Spending one of the best days of my life surrounded by them was such a gift. Larry David's favorite moment of the day was "When I got to open the gift Hannah got for me. It was a journal with a note from every day we were engaged! I had no idea she was keeping track of everything that happened in our engagement. I flipped to the last page of the journal to find a page with the date 5/19/18. She had finished the journal with the last day of our engagement note she had written earlier that morning, that journal will forever be one of my most prized possessions."

I believe our venue, which was an old weaving factory, was one thing that really set our wedding apart - the beautiful hardwood floors, huge antique windows, and history enabled us to use the space for its beauty. We wanted to make sure our wedding remained simplistic and reflective of our values. We value natural beauty, so we wanted our florals to be the focal point of the decor. Our florist took the ideas we had and brought it to life in ways that totally exceeded our expectations. The natural light that came in after a short rain shower made the rooms feel so cozy and magical. It was a perfect venue that felt like it was designed specifically for us!

The best advice I received before our wedding day was to find ways to slow down time. Find a few moments to just stop and take in everything that is happening, and reflect on what is to come. Looking back, our wedding day seemed to fly by in the blink of an eye, but because we intentionally paused, we are now able to think back to that day and remember all the details that made it so special to us. Oh, and another quick piece of advice - don't forget a cake knife!
