Vanessa + Junior's Shelbyville Wedding

From the Bride: Our dreams came to life on the warmest weekend of October. The day was filled with the beautiful colors of fall and the love of all our people. As the sun faded away, the sparkling lights of our celebration mirrored the twinkling stars of the sky. It’s hard to put into words a truly perfect day, but marrying your best friend surrounded by the most important people in your lives is nothing short of magical.

I could talk about the shimmery details of the dress or the sweet smell of the flowers, the dinner full of flavor or the sounds of Ed Sheeran or driving away in my great uncle’s baby blue Buick. But the parts I remember most vividly are the feelings. All the happy tears. When my mom helped me into my dress, a moment I have imagined since I was young. When my new sisters gave me the same veil she wore for her wedding. When I felt so at ease once I saw him for the first time that day. When he started his vows by saying that his greatest accomplishment is being my husband. I felt like my heart would burst with the roar of applause for my grandparents’ 64 years of marriage, then watching them boogie down on the dance floor.

We laughed, we danced, and we made a promise to each other that lasts a lifetime. The pure joy of that day and experiencing it all with him. That is my favorite detail of all.
