Summer + Pasha's Kentucky Castle Wedding

From the Bride: When Pasha and I got engaged, I lived in Texas while he lived in Tennessee. We scoured all over the country for a venue and even considered an international wedding. As we share a love for travel, we leaned toward a destination wedding but wanted it close enough to celebrate with our loved ones. We took a day trip from Nashville to visit The Kentucky Castle and fell in love immediately. While touring the venue, Pasha and I were both able to envision where the ceremony and reception could take place. It was at that moment we knew that we found our venue. We always wanted to visit The Kentucky Castle, so what better way than to get married there!

Although we had to postpone our wedding, it seemed as if everything lined up better for a Friday wedding. We had the most wonderful vendors that all worked seamlessly together that everything felt meant to be. Amberly and Hunter with Brislin Weddings are a husband-and-wife wedding planning duo that went over and beyond to bring our plans to life. While I didn’t know it at the time of booking our photographer and videographer, Paige and Caroline previously shot content together for the same company and knew each other’s methods to work perfect together. We got so many compliments on our DJ, Joe Pinchevsky, as he could read the room and put on the best party for our guests!

Our vision was simple décor that accentuated the stunning architecture and design of The Kentucky Castle to create a timeless and elegant wedding. Being able to incorporate the ballroom, courtyard and rooftop throughout the night helped create the atmosphere we aimed for. We focused on the small details that would ensure our guests enjoyed the night. These included serving champagne upon arrival for guests, a harpist during the ceremony and cocktail hour to give a relaxed mood, special drink toppers with our names on it as well as golden flakes, and Chick-Fil-A as a midnight snack. We danced our first dance to “Marry Me” by Train and named our Lemon Drop Martini “Marry Me” too. Our other signature cocktail was “Golden Groom”, an Old Fashioned made with Four Roses Bourbon. The night ended with a surprise vintage Bentley getaway car that our guests appreciated just as much as we did!

After the ups and downs of planning, it gave us immense joy to see the day come to fruition exactly the way we envisioned.

Bride’s Advice: Create a new email address specifically for wedding planning to keep vendor inquiries, contracts, and all communication in one place without the clutter of other emails.
