Shelby + Branson's Georgetown Wedding

Our wedding day was a reflection of everything that mattered most to us—a celebration not only of our love but also of the people, memories, and passions that have shaped who we are. As musicians, music was naturally woven into every moment. We were honored to have performances by friends and the UK Brass Quintet, whose beautiful arrangements underscored the significance of music in our relationship. As graduates of the University of Kentucky, it was wonderful including our alma mater. I’ll never forget the moment I walked into the ceremony to the powerful sound of a trumpet choir—a group of my peers playing an arrangement of “Here Comes the Bride.” As a trumpet player myself, it was such a meaningful and personal way to begin this incredible day. That moment, blending my love for music and the support of my peers, was magical and set the tone for everything to come.

Family was another cornerstone of our celebration. Four roses were placed in honor of our grandparents and an aunt who could not be there physically but were deeply present in our hearts. Their influence and love shaped who we are, and it was meaningful to include their memory in such an intentional way. It was these small details that made the day not only beautiful but deeply meaningful, as they reminded us of the community and history that surround and support us.

Even our precious pup, Theo, found his place in the celebration. While he couldn’t attend in person, he was lovingly represented at the reception with personalized napkins of him saying “I do, too!”—a special reminder of the life we’re building together. Each moment, from the music to the tributes to the playful nods to Theo, was crafted to honor what we hold dear. The day was everything we hoped for: a joyful, deeply personal celebration that felt like a true reflection of us.

Bride’ Advice: Be fully present throughout your wedding day and soak in every moment—it passes by so quickly, but those cherished details will live on in your memories forever!
