Jessica + Mike's Crestwood Wedding!

From the chapel ceremony to the live band and personalized yellowhammer cups at the reception, we wanted every detail of our day to be very intentional and feel like our personalities were infused into all parts of the day. We knew from the start that we wanted our wedding to feel like a celebration and have our reception feel like a big party with your closest friends. From small touches like using my mom’s veil to having my great-grandma’s necklace pendant on my bouquet, we tried to celebrate and honor the people who shaped us to be the people that we each fell in love with.

The chapel where we were married was perfect for the intimate feeling that we were looking for, we also had our families sit on the opposite side of the aisle so that we would easily look out and see our parents and loved ones and they could see us during the ceremony. We used the organ that is in the chapel for our ceremony music and once the chapel was filled with our loved ones it was truly breathtaking and I had the biggest smile on my face the entire time!

Our favorite intentional detail was our handwritten letters to each of our guests. I watercolored their names on the envelope in our wedding colors and then my now husband and I each wrote them personalized letters about how much they meant to each of us and how much of an impact they had made on our lives. The envelopes were set out on their reception place settings for them to read before we entered the space. It was such a wonderful time as well for us to sit and reflect and share memories with each other about each of our guests. The letters were a huge hit and people still mention it when they see us!

Our wedding cake was actually two berry chantilly cakes from Whole Foods that my mom and I combined to make a two tier cake that would perfectly complement the vintage bear cake topper that I knew I wanted to use.

We danced our first dance song to “Unforgettable” by Nat King Cole.
