Savannah + Tyler's Shelbyville Wedding
From the Bride: When first envisioning our wedding, we knew we wanted it to embody all that Kentucky has to offer. My words to our wedding planner were 'I want a Kentucky fairytale'. Our wedding took place at a farm where I ride horses. I actually got to take pictures and twirl in my wedding dress in the same spot where I walk horses in my jodhpurs. From burying the bourbon to keep away the rain to having Kentucky Hot Brown and Bourbon Bread Pudding, we tried to even have our food centered around a Kentucky feel. Our ceremony took place in the main estate home where the owner of the farm once lived. With a large crystal chandelier hanging above and silver plates and ribbons displayed around, it was truly every equestrian princess's dream.
My most memorable sight was seeing my groom's reaction at our first look. I don't think his eyes could have gotten any wider!
Following the ceremony, guests were escorted out to the show barn where equestrian guides provided information and direction through the world renowned horse farm where many American Saddlebred world champions have called home. Next they settled to live music, a signature cocktail and appetizers by the outdoor training arena. Pictures and great conversations were had as the friesians grazed and frolicked in the adjoining paddock. My most memorable touch was holding my newly named husband's hand and feeling the ring on it as we took pictures with family after the ceremony.
Dinner guests were seated in a mix between the multiple dining rooms and the large porch. The reception that followed was back in the great room where all chairs had been moved and lighting was added to set the scene for a night of dancing. Live music was played for the signature dances, until my father and I ended our dance with the DJ playing Old Time Rock & Roll to start the party with our choreographed swing dance. Every single person was on the floor dancing before the night was over!
