Julia + Tyler's Goshen Wedding
From the Bride: Our wedding was like a dream. It flew by like everyone always tells you it does, but it was beautiful and we will always remember it. Our wedding was on September 18th, 2021. We started the day by getting ready at Big Spring Country Club, where our rehearsal dinner was the night before. Our ceremony was held outside in front of Harmony Landing Country Club. The scenic drive up to the property as well as the character of the classic white clubhouse, built in the early 1800's, was one of the main reasons we chose it as our venue. It is surrounded by a golf course and countless trees that provided a lush green backdrop. We lined our aisle way with large boston ferns with larkspur which led to our arched arbor covered in smilax vines and flowers. We wanted to create an airy and natural garden feel by using greenery, flowers, and neutral tones. Our ceremony was officiated by a close family friend. It was short and sweet, and comprised of readings that are special to us.
I’ll always remember when my mom helped me put on my veil and when my dad gave my hand to my husband. Seeing my husband at our altar smiling ear to ear when he first saw me was my favorite sight all day - seeing him took my breath away. After the ceremony, we took pictures and enjoyed the sunset together while our guests were concluding cocktail hour and making their way to the reception. The music for the ceremony and cocktail hour were played by a string duo made up of a violin and a cello. The reception was held under a large white pole tent in the back of the clubhouse near the pool and patio. The tent was draped with white fabric and beautifully lit with string lights and chandeliers. Our reception band and dance floor were set up in the center with guests, family, and the wedding party seated around. The guests were seated at round tables with champagne linens and our family and wedding party were seated at long farmhouse tables with sheer champagne table runners. We filled the tables with candles and flowers for a romantic atmosphere.
The dinner was wonderful and looking around to see all of our favorite people in one place to celebrate with us was surreal. We made sure to eat and then walk around and catch up with each table before the cake cutting (I loved the strawberry wedding cake and hummingbird grooms cake) and first dances started. Being able to say hello, speak with, and thank each and everyone of our guests was important to us and we are really glad we made the time do to so. Our first dance wasn't perfect but we sure had fun dancing to our song, Diamonds or Twine by Ryan Hurd. My dad and I danced to Wildflowers by Tom Petty. My husband and his mom danced to My Wish by Rascal Flatts. Once the dancing started the night really flew by. The band let us come up on stage and join in for a couple of their songs, allowing my husband to master his cowbell skills and his vocals singing Meet Me in The Middle by Maren Morris. Our late night White Castle snack was a crowd favorite, especially by those who took part in the open bar. Seeing everyone's faces when the waiters brought the sliders out on trays to the dance floor was priceless. Before we knew it we were walking through our sparkler sendoff at the end of the night. We couldn't have asked for a better day.
