Karlee + Tyler's Louisville Wedding

From the Bride: Our wedding day couldn’t have been more perfect! I know everyone says that, but it’s true. We decided to have our wedding day on the same day as the Kentucky Derby. If you’re from Kentucky, you know Derby day is a big deal around here, whether you go to Derby or attend a Derby Party. Our wedding decor was modern boho with Derby aesthetics! Our bar was a ‘Horse Starting Gate’, serving Derby inspired drinks with drink stirrers topped with horses. A betting table was setup as we gathered around a big screen and watched the race together and big white horse heads sat on tables as centerpieces!

Our floral was magical! We had pampas everywhere—a huge pampas crescent moon stood behind us during our ceremony, our ceremony walkway was lined up with pampas, my bridal bouquet was mixed with pampas, the groomsman boutonnières were pampas and vases of pampas stood tall on our reception tables. It was all over the place and so dreamy, thanks to Bailey from Bloomed Roots!

These are the last few items that made our wedding stand out: (1) Our wedding gifts were scratch offs (2) We served tacos for dinner from Fistful of Tacos (3) Our personal wedding cake was Orange dreamsicle; while our guests enjoyed vanilla bourbon, orange dreamsicle and churro cupcakes (4) We danced our first dance to “Sweet Symphony” by Joy Oladokun ft. Chris Stapleton (5) Our guests left us with “video guest shoutouts”, which was so fun to go back and watch, thanks to Kyle Condor!

I’d say we did everything right. We couldn’t imagine a more perfect wedding day here in Kentucky!

Bride’s Advice: Decide what your true budget is before diving into finding a venue, catering, dress shopping, flowers, decor, etc. I feel like I just dove straight in without considering how much everything was going to cost us.
