Kara + Logan's Wilsonville Wedding

From the Bride: We truly had the best day, it was fun from start to finish! We had a large bridal party and loved being surrounded by so many friends and family members starting that morning. The best part of the whole day was having so many of our loved ones all in the same place. Some of our favorite features included bubble machines for the ceremony exit which made for some fun photos. In addition, we had a cocktail hour with our favorite snacks (chicken and waffles, pretzels w/ beer cheese and southwest egg rolls) and signature drinks named after our pets. Our koozies also featured portraits of our pets for guests to take home as a favor.

One of the most important parts was having our two fur babies there :) Our dog, Riley, and our cat, Kahlua, we brought to the venue so we could take photos with them. This was something truly so important to us to have them with us that day. In hindsight, it will be a moment we will cherish even more so moving forward, as it was one of ur last days with Riley who sadly passed shortly after our honeymoon. We feel so honored to have had the opportunity to have her a part of one of our favorite days as she reached the end of her battle with osteosarcoma.

Our reception included a taco bar, speeches from the Best Man and Man of Honor, along with three dances: one with my Dad and I, one with Logan and his Mom and lastly an upbeat West Coast Swing dance with my Step-Dad who used to teach and compete in dance. We danced our first dance to “Simply the Best” (From "Schitt's Creek") by Noah Reid. We decorated with disco balls and had a neon sign photo backdrop. We used light up foam sticks provided by our DJ on our dance floor. One of the best decisions we made was to not interrupt the party for any type of staged exit that evening. Our priority was to make sure as many people were on that dance floor as long as possible so we skipped that part of the night and were very happy with that decision. We did end the night with a private dance and that was really special for us and the perfect way to end the day!

Bride’s Advice: Don't get bogged down in all the details! There are a TON of ideas out there and I particularly felt compelled to need to do everything. We loved our wedding but the day goes by so fast, it's hard to take the time that day to appreciate every little thing you've worked on and thought about in the last year or so. When in doubt, keep it simple and the most important thing that day is your precious time spent with your favorite people.
