Grisel + Nick's Danville Wedding
From the Bride: Our wedding day was exceptional, because Nick and I made sure to purposefully plan as much as we could to make our wedding day as near perfect as possible. The ceremonial mass was angelic. We, as a couple, felt truly peaceful before the church. There was not much decorating at the church, because the church itself is stunning. However, we loved the message that was conveyed during our ceremonial mass. It was a message of lasting and irrevocable love and union. I could see out of the corner of my eye that every guest we invited was there for us, and wanted to be there to celebrate us before the church. Both Nick and I picked out the scripture that was read, and once the mass came to fulfillment, we felt like it was truly OUR event.
I wanted my wedding day to last for decades. I decided to go with less is more. I decided on a light pink, almost blush color for the bridesmaids' dresses, because I love roses of all colors, and light pink roses were also the main flower for my bouquet and center pieces for the tables. And that was it for color! I wanted my dress to stand out, but also be elegant. I was inspired by Jackie Kennedy's off the shoulder dress she wore on her wedding day, and I knew that once I tried on my first off the shoulder dress, it was THE dress. I paired it with a cathedral veil. The reception, however, was our most memorable moment. After dinner, we weren't shy about having everyone gather at the dance floor. Nick's favorite music is a mix of techno and dub step, so our DJ was not shy about blasting Chainsmokers and Avicii. We had all our guests dancing, literally, the entire night!
My favorite moment was picking up the microphone from the DJ and doing karaoke to Journey's Don't Stop Believing, and I'm pretty sure this was Nick's favorite moment as well. However, as a couple, we truly enjoyed our moments we had taking our couple's photos. Not only did the pictures turn out absolutely beautiful, but we were able to enjoy ourselves before the "wedding festivities" started. I guess a tip I could give to future brides is that having all of our wedding pictures finished before our wedding mass and reception was extremely helpful as we didn't have to worry about pictures later, but only getting to PARTAYYY!
