Elly + Justin's Fort Mitchell Wedding

From the Bride: Having to postpone our wedding due to Covid, we were both nervous and excited when we heard The Kentucky Derby had also been postponed to our new date. We are both born and raised in Kentucky and always loved celebrating the Derby and all the traditions that come along with it. So, instead of worrying that it may take away from our day we decided to make the most of it and integrate those traditions with our family traditions.

Having the ceremony in the same church that my parents were married in, using my families collections of antique silver as the center pieces, mint juleps in antique derby glasses as the feature cocktail and the lemon romance and opera cream wedding cake was amazing. We danced to It Takes A Woman for our first dance and ended the night with My Old Kentucky Home…these were just a few details that made the day so special for us!

Just a bit of advice - Don’t be afraid to share with your vendors what you don’t like in addition to what you do like. This will help ensure that your vision comes to life perfectly and that there are no surprises.
