Gracie + Logan's Pine Knot Wedding

From the Bride: The day started off cool and calm; it was the perfect start to the most perfect day. We were surrounded by our closest friends and family at my Grandparent’s home. This was the unfolding of our crazy, amazing fairytale. From the moment we met each other, I knew Logan was special. We met in the third grade at our elementary school. We began “dating” in November of 2008. Our love depicts a movie; exciting moments, tears, heartache, and most importantly, strong love for one another that cannot be escaped. This was the day we have looked forward to for 12 years and it was finally here! Our parents, grandparents, siblings, family, and friends have all been a huge part of our love story. Our whole wedding was planned and arranged by my mother and my aunt. They spent a whole year designing and making arrangements for every aspect of the wedding. My nana and papaw, and Mamaw and Jim helped in making sure the vendors and venue were top notch.

From the beginning, I knew I wanted to make my late great-grandmother and my late grandfather a part of our special day. In remembrance of them, I wore my great-grandmother’s ring and used my grandfather’s favorite flannel for pictures. When it came to my dress, I knew I had to include my good luck charms! 6 years ago, I was given a charm by my aunt that I wore in every single special event and pageant. As this was the most special day of my life, I knew I had to include it. In addition to my charm, I added my newest charm from my aunt’s funeral flowers. She was suddenly taken from this world in the summer of 2019 and it was only fitting that she was with my every step of the way.

The whole day was magical and everything we had dreamt of. It was fun, exciting, charming, romantic, elegant, and a tear-jerker. For me, my absolute favorite part of the day was the quiet moment we spent together. Right before everyone was going to line up, we snuck away to the side room and held hands, hugged, and cried tears of joy. We soaked up these last moments before we became husband and wife. It was truly a moment I will never forget because every single excitement and heartache had led us to this exact moment. As for Logan, his favorite moment was the first look. He said, “I was most excited to see you. The anticipation was nerve-racking and I couldn’t wait to be married.” Logan has always played a huge part in picking out my dresses for pageants and special events and he could not wait to see what my dress looked like! Overall, our wedding was absolutely perfect and we could not be more thankful for all of the love and support shown by our friends and family!
