Clarissa + Tyler's Bonnyman Wedding
From the Bride: When I dreamed of my wedding day as a little girl, I didn't dream up anything as magical as what it turned into. We pinched pennies, had some help from our families, sold our favorite show horses, and saved what little we did have, to make our dream become reality. I had always wanted a big wedding to fit my big family & even though Tyler would've rather eloped at the time, he knew how much this day meant to me so he done everything he could to make it happen. Since I'm in nursing school, we had to plan our wedding day around my breaks from school. We both knew we wanted an outdoor wedding & didn't want our guests to be miserably hot in the summer or freezing outside in the winter so we chose to have it in the fall during my fall break! I just imagined a Saturday in Eastern Kentucky with the most perfect Fall weather, leaves covering the ground, and a ceremony with all of our closest loved ones by the river. I was set on a boho, 70s feel to match my dress, accessories, and old souls but also wanted it to feel rustic & cozy like our country home.
The day went by way too fast & was even more perfect than we thought it would be. I have said over and over since 9/26/2020, "I just wish I could relive that day every weekend for the rest of my life." and I mean it. Me and my girls got there that morning and we laughed and jammed out all day to all the early 2000s classics. We helped each other get dressed while we snacked on a spread of sweets and finger foods. My sister Olivia helped me save money with a couple DIYs and they couldn't have been better (I'm the oldest of many siblings that were all part of my day & I wouldn't have it any other way)! We made my white wedding Vans say "Just Married" and made my dreams come true by turning my old, fringe, denim jacket in to a pearl and sequin studded jacket that read "Wife of the Party" on the back in white calligraphy.
Once it was time for the ceremony, I wasn't nervous at all, in fact I hadn't been all day. I was just truly so anxious and excited to marry that man. My dad kept me laughing and kept my butterflies at bay by talking to me before walking me down the aisle. Once those doors opened down on the river bank, my whole world stopped. I had tunnel vision to the end of that aisle where my future husband stood crying with the sweetest smile on his face, as he looked into my already watery eyes. It was like everything around us froze as I walked towards him and "How Long Will I Love You" by Ellie Goulding echoed off the water. After dad kissed my cheek and handed me off to Tyler, my Papaw married us. It was all I had ever wanted right there in that moment. We couldn't wait to be married, Papaw announced us as husband and wife, we shared the best kiss ever, then walked down the aisle as husband and wife to "I Got You Babe" by Sunny and Cher. I just remember us laughing the whole way down the aisle because we had finally done it! I remember everyone being so happy and it was the best feeling to date.
