Gina + Jacob's Louisville Wedding

From the Bride: I've dreamed of having a Bridgerton-inspired wedding. The romance and purse sense of fairy tale I found so beautiful for such an important day. On top of the venue, gardens, and even colors, I added in small touches that any Bridgerton lover would spot. Such as my ceremony programs, which I designed as Lady Whistledown society papers.

Our day also was just a pure labor of love. Not only did we have our Pittsburgh Cookie Table, but all of my flowers were silk and handcrafted by our very close family friend from my hometown in Pennsylvania who drove giant truck with all of the flowers down just so I could have a wedding with the flowers of my dreams!

Finally, our sweet fur baby Bonnie has been with us through every major milestone since being together (almost 6 whole years!). It was only right that we included her too. We don't have any nieces or nephews or young children to be flower girls or ring bearers, so our Corgi, Bonnie was our surprise guest who delivered the rings down the aisle while attached to her collar. There are so many things about the day that were perfect, but this was so special to us.

We were unexpectedly surprised at how much we liked the fruit flavored cakes from Plehn's Bakery. We chose strawberry cake with a chocolate filling for the bottom tier, and orange cake with cream cheese filling for the top tier that we saved to have on our first anniversary. Because it was a cutting cake, our primary dessert was our Pittsburgh cookie table! It's a big tradition where I am from, and family and friends from all over brought homemade cookies. We had so many we couldn't fit them all on the dessert tables!

Bride’s Advice: One piece of advice I wish someone had told me is to embrace the joy in every moment of the planning process. It’s easy to get caught up in the details and stress, but remember that this is a unique time in your life. Take time to celebrate each milestone, from choosing your venue to tasting cake samples. Enjoy the laughter, the excitement, and even the small challenges, because these moments make the journey special. Keep the focus on the love and happiness that brought you to this point, and let that guide you through the planning.
