Drew + Austin's Nicholasville Wedding

From the Bride: Our wedding day felt like a real life fairy tale. We got married in Nicholasville, surrounded by lush gardens and breathtaking views. My favorite part of the wedding was seeing my husband’s reaction when he saw me for the first time, walking down the aisle. It was a very emotional moment that we will never forget.

There were many details that made our day so special. My “something old” was my mother’s veil, that she wore on my parent’s wedding day. Another special detail was “burying the bottle”, a tradition of the venue. This includes burying a bourbon bottle on the night of the rehearsal & digging it up and drinking it during the reception. This is for good luck & good weather and lucky for us, it was the most beautiful, sunny day. Closely following my favorite part of our wedding was our phenomenal cake. The flavors were perfect for a June wedding: Champagne & Berries, Amaretto Almond, and the classic Wedding Cake. Last but certainly not least, the vows. Austin & I wrote our own vows and read them during the ceremony. The love I felt during that time is unmatchable.

The Groom’s Favorite: Though the entire day was flawless, my most memorable moment of our wedding was when Drew walked down the aisle. Even though most of our relationship has been spent apart over the years, being away from her for the day until that moment had me anxiously waiting to see her. When she began to walk towards me I was in awe at how beautiful she was. She had her big smile on her face while I could barely hold myself together. I felt like meeting her halfway just so I could hurry to her. But, when we stood in front of each other my world slowed down and I felt at home again.

Our ceremony was special to us also. The setup was perfect and had us standing on a small hill looking overtop the crowd. My groomsman and myself all had matching boots, and custom leather engraved suspenders. My best man, and brother, enjoys timepieces so I had to go the distance on our matching watches. All of the bridesmaids were beautiful as well! My childhood friend happily had the pleasure of doing his first wedding, and marrying us in front of God, family, and close friends. Emotions ran throughout the ceremony as we all laughed from stories shared, subtle jokes that were told, and even cried when we read the vows that we wrote to each other. Having him conduct the ceremony made our day much more personable to us, and an enjoyment for others.

My final favorite was having all of those in attendance on our special day. The love and support that has always been shown to us was expressed even more at the wedding. To have all of that energy focused to us for a full day was such a blessing, and is heartfelt from us both. Our family helped us make all of this possible with the least amount of stress. As well as our amazing wedding coordinator! All of our friends, as expected, showed up and rocked the barn during the reception just like a Kentucky wedding celebration should be done. Bourbon was drank, boots were stomped, and we all danced while celebrating until the night came to an end. Without all of our family and friends the wedding would not have been complete!
