Courtney + Mike's Lexington Wedding

From the Bride: I wish I could relive this day over and over again, forty degrees warmer that is. Funny story...we got married in April in Kentucky. The first weekend of Spring Meets at Keeneland and I had full expectations for the wedding day to be sunny and 75. Kentucky had different plans that weekend. It SNOWED in April on our wedding day. But our day was nothing short of perfect. We had all of our friends and family in town from Thursday to Sunday. Leading up to the big day, everyone always asked us what we were most excited about. Michael and I could not wait for all of our favorite people to be in one place. We started Thursday night at the rehearsal dinner in downtown Lexington. Friday morning started with a group workout class for the girls followed by mimosas and a party bus to Keeneland. We had a big tailgate on "The Hill" and all of the wedding guests were invited. It rained and rained that day but we did not let that stop us.

The weekend was very special, but Saturday is a day that will never forget. We were married at St. Peter and Paul by Father Norman who unexpectedly sang a song by Elton John at our ceremony. Father Norman is the best! Following the ceremony we threw a party that we still talk about at the Lexington Country club. Our food was out of this world, our band never let us sit down, and we ended the night with cheese coneys, a Cincinnati favorite (my hometown)! Our signature drinks were “The Phoebe” (a moscow mule) and “The Gus” (KY mule), named after our pups! We danced our first dance to "You Are the Best Thing" by Ray LaMontagne. This weekend was nothing short of perfect despite the snow flurries and rain, we will never forget these special moments.

Bride’s Advice: Don't worry about the smallest details. It all ends up working out the way it is supposed to in the end!
