Cara + Seth's Paint Lick Wedding!

From the Bride: It’s a running joke amongst my family and friends that the twins get married at Twins Farm the first weekend of October. My twin sister had her wedding at our childhood home, Twins Farm, October of 2021. It was so special to me to continue this new tradition by having my wedding at our family farm the same weekend, two years later.

Our wedding was curated with unique/niche details that made up all the things I love, antiques, flowers, and elegance! Leading up to the wedding many friends and family members helped me thrift and collect all 175 vintage floral plates used for the reception. Each table centerpiece was decorated with family heirloom oil lamps, vintage silver platters, and bright florals. I loved all our colorful florals in teacups, silver, and vintages vases. The blue hydrangeas were my favorite of the florals as they were grown by the groom at his farm.

We had a floral arch made of baby’s breath, and 200 roses outlining the aisle, which my best friends placed the morning of the wedding (they’re the best). Prior to the ceremony the bar opened to serve lemon drops and Moscow mules in branded cups with our monogram and matching drink stirrers, accompanied by vintage hallmark wedding napkins. Our newspaper style programs kept our guests busy with a word search containing specific details to us and our day and had a special note honoring Seth’s father who had passed. We opted to not have a bridal/groom party in our ceremony and instead I had a “something blue crew” which was my closest friends who spent the wedding morning with me getting ready and calming my nerves and taking lots of photos. Seth’s uncle played a big role on our special day by becoming ordained and marrying us. It meant the world to us to have someone we love to be the person who officiated our wedding.

Following the wedding our guests enjoyed cigars at the cigar bar with vintage furniture and monogrammed match boxes. I changed into a short dress trimmed with lots of feathers. Seth’s favorite local barbeque was served, and my twin sister gave a beautiful speech which brought us both to tears, and Seth’s college roommate sang “True” by Geroge Strait. We kept things moving during the reception and played musical chairs and limbo. We danced our first dance to “You're Still the One” by Shania Twain.

Our cake was a three-tier light blue vanilla cake decorated to look like a vintage wedding cake, and we had floral cupcake bouquets which our guest all mistaked for actual flowers, we had three flavors, peanut butter, strawberry, and lemon. There were so many amazing people in our lives and great vendors who brought the most perfect day together for us and I wouldn’t change a thing.

Bride’s Advice: Don’t get caught up in thinking that your wedding must have a singular theme, and everything must match. Your theme can literally be all the things you love. I joked with people that our wedding was garden party meets glam-ma because all décor and details were antiques you would find at a glamorous grandma’s house and lots of flowers. Do whatever your heart desires and it will come together!
