Brooklyn + Justin's Louisville Wedding
From the Bride: Coming from two big families, we are fortunate to have lots of amazing role models for relationships. We had a table of all of the past wedding photos from our loved ones on their big day. We also are blessed to have 4 grandmothers still living. To honor them on our special day, we had them be our flower girls. There is no age limit for a flower girl :) Also family related, we lit a unity candle during our ceremony by having both sets of our parents light their original unity candles from their own weddings 30+ years ago. We then lit our unity candle by joining them together. All of the jewelry used the day of was very special because it came from my families business, Benton Fine Jewelry. I gifted a very special painting to my mom of her and her mother, both in their wedding dresses standing side by side. I also surprised my mother by having a mother-daughter dance during the reception. Since my mom planned so much it was my way of thanking her for all of her hard work.
To add some personal touches to the wedding, the guest book was records. A custom record was also created with all of the songs used in the ceremony and dances during the reception. I am a music therapist so this was a fun way to add a touch of music into the day. We also had a Live Painter who captured our exit after the Ceremony. It was so fun to watch her paint the scene live. One of my favorite memories of the weekend, was having all of the Bridesmaids spend the night in the Presidential Suite and getting to wake up on the most special day with all of my favorite girls.
A white cake with raspberry filling was our wedding cake flavor and we had our two dogs as figurines at the back of our cake! We danced our first dance to “Best Part of Me” by Ed Sheeran and Yebba.
Bride’s Advice: Put your own personality into the wedding. Don't be afraid to try something that isn't trending right now. It is your special day that you will look back on forever.
