Brooke + Will's Louisville Wedding

From the Bride: We wanted our wedding to really showcase us as a couple and our families coming together. My husband and I met and lived in Arizona, where we spent a lot of our free time together hiking. The desert and the mountains were a big part of our relationship, so we really wanted to tie that in. The best way to do this was through our color scheme, so we went with rust, light blue, and beige as our main colors. We had rust in our flowers, table runners, and stationary to symbolize the red mountains of Sedona, which was our favorite place to visit and where we got engaged. The light blue was in our bouquets and bridesmaid dresses to represent the endless blue skies of Arizona. And beige was showcased in our bouquet and tablecloths to highlight the desert sand. We thought our color palette told a story that was special to us.

I was born and raised in Louisville, but my husband grew up in Chicago and went to school in Minnesota. When we decided to get married in Louisville, we knew we wanted a unique experience for all of our out of town guests and to highlight our favorite parts of Kentucky. When we found Frazier, we knew it was the perfect place to do just that. We lucked out with beautiful weather and were able to have the ceremony on the rooftop overlooking the Ohio River on one side and the downtown Louisville skyline on the other. After the ceremony, we held our cocktail hour on the third floor of the museum, which is all about bourbon. Our guests were able to grab a drink and hors d'oeuvres while learning about the distillation process. Whenever we visit Louisville, we make it a point to go to a new stop on the bourbon trail (where my dad works as a tour guide), so having bourbon involved was a must for us and our guests. Our reception was on the fourth floor loft, where our relationship really shined through with great food, an amazing band, and a packed dance floor.

We also added little hints of us throughout the rest of the wedding. Although our sweet pup couldn’t make it, his dog tag was on my bouquet to help walk me down the aisle, and he was featured on our cocktail napkins. We had a close friend from college make our guest book out of a bourbon barrel that currently sits over our bar cart. We also gave out bourbon balls as our wedding favors ]with “we hope you had a ball” on the lid. We even ended the night with a bull ride at PBR in my wedding dress. We danced our first dance to "Can't Take My Eyes Off You" by Frankie Valli. Our wedding was truly the best night of my life and we were surrounded by so much love and support that still makes me tear up just thinking about. We couldn’t have pulled it off without Christina Burton Events, who was there for us from the very beginning.
