Brooke + Hunter's Campbellsville Wedding

From the Bride: Hunter and I met during elementary school and grew up surrounded by all of the same friends. We started dating 8 years ago and from the very beginning we always knew it was something special. After spending the majority of our high school and college years dating, Hunter proposed during my first year of pharmacy school at one of our favorite places to go together - Keeneland!

While deciding on a venue for our wedding we both knew we wanted to get married in our hometown (Campbellsville) surrounded by all of our family and friends. We wanted a very classic wedding. Hence, the reason everything was black and white! We knew that we wanted our wedding to be classic but we wanted everyone to have a good time. We chose Swan's Landing and were able to work really closely with the venue coordinators, florist, and all the vendor's they had to offer. The venue was beautiful and all of my white everything dreams came true! We had a luau themed rehearsal which really set the stage for a fun weekend.

The night before our wedding, my bridesmaids and I stayed at the bed and breakfast on the property and spent the evening reminiscing on old stories and memories that we had shared together. The morning of our wedding my bridesmaids and I got ready on the venue property. We spent the morning drinking coffee and mimosas talking and giggling like we were little girls again. I had each of my bridesmaids and flower girl a black pair of satin pajamas and I wore a white satin pair of pajamas to get ready. The groomsmen spent the morning at the farm doing manly things. We didn't do a first look because we both decided we wanted the moment I walked down the aisle to be the first time we saw each other that day. When it was finally time for the wedding to start, I was so excited to see my handsome man!

Our wedding colors were white, white, and more white. I wanted all white flowers with a touch of greenery to keep it classy. The groomsmen wore black suits, black bow ties, and a white shirt with black cuff links. My bridesmaids wore light silver dresses and had bouquets of white roses and hydrangeas. My flower girl wore the sweetest little white dress with a pearl lined V in the back. She was the sweetest. Our ring bearer wore the sweetest all white jon jon with white knee socks.

My most memorable moment from the entire day was when I saw my future husband waiting for me at the altar. This moment felt like the whole world stopped for a brief second and it was just the two of us. The look on his face in this moment is something I will always remember and cherish. Another sweet memory was when I got to hold hands at the altar with my *almost* husband! Hunter and I did traditional vows but wrote each other letters on our wedding day. These letters were also used during our unique unity ceremony during our wedding ceremony. These letters are now in a box that we keep in our home and are meant to be opened when we feel like we need to be reminded of why we chose to get married. It's a sweet way to always remember why we fell in love in the first place.

The day was filled with tears, laughter, dancing and a whole lot of FUN! Our reception started out with the grand entrance by our bridal party and the we were able to do our father-daughter and mother-son dances. The father-daughter dance was one of the highlights of the entire day for me. My dad had to have a leg amputation less than a year before our wedding. One of his goals was to be able to walk me down the aisle and dance with me at our wedding. He did it, and did it very successfully. There wasn't a dry eye in the room during the dance. Hunter and his mom slow danced and did a fun choreographed dance as well. It was such a sweet and fun moment for the two of them and the entire crows. We also got to have our favorite drinks at our reception. With a little Kentucky charm Hunter had "Kentucky Juice" (Coke and Maker’s Mark), and I had a lime margarita, and we also had a blushing bride cocktail. We served a full meal and had wedding cake and cupcakes. The best taste I had all day was the strawberry cupcake made by the best cake baker I've ever known, Ms. Bonnie. She has been making my cakes since I was a young girl and it was such a sweet thing that she got to make my wedding cake and cupcakes. The night also ended with donuts from the BEST local donut shop. We had the best time and danced the night away. Our day was truly the best day of our lives and it was more than Hunter and I could have ever imagined.
