Katie Beth + Trevor's Bowling Green Wedding

From the Bride: We wanted our wedding day to reflection of us both together and individually. We toured multiple venues - with Cason’s Cove being our last stop. As soon as we arrived, we knew it was the perfect place to say “I do.”

Trevor and I tried to make every part of our wedding weekend a reflection of our relationship. We had welcome bags for out-of-town guests containing cookies from our favorite bakery, my favorite wine, and the groom’s favorite bourbon. I even surprised my mom and wore her mom’s altered wedding dress to the rehearsal. Even though we knew our wedding would be different due to the Coronavirus, we strove to make our wedding as personal, thoughtful, and unique as our love.

The wedding truly was like a fairy tale. From a butterfly landing on the “in memory” picture of my grandparents, to my mom finding a four leaf clover between her and my dad’s seat - sign after sign showed that the day was just meant to be! One of my favorite moments of the day was giving out letters that I had written to my parents, grandmother, new in-laws, bridesmaids, ring bearer, flower girl, and of course, the groom! Perhaps one of the most special moments was gifting my mom with a handkerchief that had been made out of her wedding dress. I’ll never forget the look my mom had when she realized what it was and it will be something that is passed down for generations to come.

The groom’s favorite moment was at the end of the reception. We had requested to have one last dance privately as our friends and family setup for our exit. The DJ played a slow song and we started talking about how perfect the day was. I made the comment that the only thing that would make it completely perfect was if my mom was in there to witness our last dance - to which Trevor pointed over my shoulder and said “she is.” I turned to see my mom full of so much joy that she had tears running down her face. Trevor had held it together the entire day but in that moment, he too felt so much love and happiness that he began to cry. It was such a special moment for us.

Our families, friends, venue and vendors came together to make the entire wedding weekend exactly the way we had always dreamed. With so many unknowns during planning our 2020 wedding, we strove to enjoy every second of our day and words can’t describe the love we felt for each other and for everyone there.
