Kelsey + Josh's Lexington Wedding

From the Bride: A girl growing up in central Kentucky and guy growing up in southern Ohio meeting in college at the University of Kentucky connecting on so many levels but even more so sharing the same love that Kentucky has to offer... horse racing. The bride grew up going to Keeneland and going to visit her grandmother’s thoroughbred race horses. While the groom grew up loving taking care of the beautiful animals and decided to come to the University of Kentucky to pursue a career in the industry.
Josh and Kelsey started going to to Keeneland together and then ended up traveling to different horse racing tracks throughout the United States and hope to some day travel to all the major thoroughbred race tracks in the world (bucket list for us) But we thought it was only fitting for our wedding to be at one of the equine staples of Lexington which is Fasig-Tipton, it is where many champion horses have been and we felt so lucky to share our love for each at such a place that makes us happy.

The details of our wedding we’re based off of the greatest race horses that have ever lived which are the triple crown winners. Our “Find your Seat” or as we told them “Find your Silk” were the silks on the triple crown winners throughout history and the name and year that the horse won the triple crown along with the silks the jockey wore were on the tables. There was one special horse that had not won the triple crown race but held a special place in our heart and the table with the owners of that horse which her name was Abel Tasman and she is special to us because we were invited by the owners to Churchill Downs to watch her go on to win the Kentucky Oaks and that day we will never forget!

We love Kentucky and all that it has to offer and wanted our wedding to be something that reflected the love we have for the thoroughbred and horse racing industry and what better place to live to be in the center of it than Lexington, Kentucky
