Xiaomin + Martin's Louisville Wedding
From the Bride: Our wedding was a traditional American wedding at its core but definitely non-traditional in many aspects! I am from China, and Martin's grandparents came from Poland. We embraced three cultures in our wedding, which is quite fun when you look around there are different colors/symbols/languages shown in decorations, but together they are beautiful and meaningful. The wedding was located at our new house we just bought in April, so it was a small but intimate ceremony. We invited our friend Gabe as our officiant, he never thought that the license he got as a joke his freshman year could be used one day to marry his best friends! Our wedding was also live streamed to all of my family who were watching from the other side of the earth.
Xiaomin's favorite moment: When Martin was reading his vows. Not like any standard vows, his vows were all about me. He wanted to let the world know, I will never be alone, I am not only a graduate student that came to America 5 years ago by myself; I have a family here and his love forever. When he was reading his vows, he was stopped several times by his tears. I will always know he loves me deeply, but there is no measure of how deep it is.
Martin's favorite moment: When everyone was dancing at the reception and my friends played my favorite song of all time the energy just exploded. The feeling of having our loved ones surrounding us in such a happy moment is unforgettable.
