Morgan + Wesley's Bowling Green Wedding

From the Bride: Our wedding was on a beautiful cool June day. My vision for our wedding was to use navy, gold, and maroon. I wanted to collaborate this color palette to create an elegant wedding that was simple. Over a year we collected decorations from various antique stores to have unique arrangements. Our wedding was at the beautiful Historic Potter Farm in Bowling Green, Kentucky. One thing I will always remember about our wedding was the calmness of everything. All the planning and organization paid off with a wedding that was perfect for Wesley and I. Our love was on display and it was prevalent that our wedding was designed perfectly for us.

We had unique components of our wedding. The primary thing that made our wedding stand out was to simply put... a pandemic. I never imagined in the year of planning that we would have hand sanitizer and masks available for guests. We changed plans for the execution of the reception to ensure the safety of all of our loved ones. Another unique thing we did was that we decided on a calendar as our guest book. Guests signed their birthday. Now that calendar hangs on our fridge for us to admire and think back on our favorite day. We also had custom cups and napkins that guests had the opportunity to take home.

The final unique thing we did on our wedding day is also our favorite moment. We did a foot washing ceremony during our wedding ceremony. The idea was my husbands and we loved the meaning behind it. Right before announcing us husband and wife, we did the foot washing. The significance was that the first act we completed as husband and wife was an act of service to each other. We knelt onto a quilt my great grandmother created. The foot washing was a reminder that through any challenge we face, to serve each other and seek to help each other. This was a special moment for us and that quilt hangs in our house today as a constant reminder of our precious and perfect day.
