Courtlyn + Nick's Charming Southern Wedding

From the Bride: Our wedding location was easy to pick, our venue was located in Nick's home county and it was beautiful! Nick grew up playing basketball at the old Millersburg Military Academy and I knew that I wanted to get married there since it was a special piece of his childhood and other locations didn't have that as an added bonus.

We wanted to keep it as "real"' to us as possible. After going round and round with my mom who wanted a nicer dinner she finally caved and let us serve the foods that were appealing to "us" as a couple. For cocktail hour we served chicken wings and pretzels with beer cheese, two of our favorites! Despite the heat we were able to enjoy our nice meal under the cool sailboat tent.

Nick and I got married in front of the house, where our blue accents matched the beautiful stained glass window. Our minister who married us was one of Nick's childhood friend's father and was very dear to him.

My favorite part of the wedding day was right before the ceremony he and I came upstairs to take a couple last shots, then the photographer left and we watched everyone gather from the window upstairs. It was so humbling to see all the people that we love, in one place to celebrate our love.

Even though my father was not there to walk me down the aisle my mother put one of his military pins in my bouquet so he did help me walk down the aisle with my grandfather. My grandfather who is 81, had been looking forward to this day for months, he was determined no matter his health to walk me down the aisle and he did just that.

We jammed the rest of the night to a great local band with all the people that we love.
