Christina + Austin's Romantic Fairytale Wedding
From the Bride: My husband and I got engaged and marriage was something we talked about frequently. We both were about to graduate from dental school, so the timing was perfect. As we began the planning process, there were a lot of factors for us to consider. Austin was getting ready to begin a residency program, while I was anticipating the start of my career. At the same time, my mom was battling stage IV lung cancer. We had always dreamed of a Fall wedding, but with my mom's prognosis, we just weren't sure we could wait that long. After much discussion, we settled on our date and planned to marry in Alvaton, KY, close to my hometown. The weather was perfect - a breezy low 80 degree afternoon. The flowers and landscape were in perfect bloom! We choose neutrals and a touch of pastel pink that we incorporated into our flowers. During the ceremony, my aunt and cousin sang "I Will Always Be Yours", a favorite of ours. We had confetti poppers that our bridal party set off as the pastor introduced us as husband and wife. It was the perfect touch to make that moment unique and unforgettable. We were sure to add personal touches that were truly unique to us. We included a gallery of pictures of parents and grandparents from their wedding days, handmade acrylic bridal party signs and ceremony information as well as a personalized wine box containing letters written by our closest family members. We are anxious to crack open the bottle of wine and read those letters on our one year anniversary!
My favorite wedding day moment was definitely during our first look. I was so anxious, but as soon as I saw Austin, I immediately felt at ease and had never felt more sure of something than I did in that moment. We got to spend an hour together, just us and our photographers, which was my highlight of the day.
The groom's favorite wedding day moment: "No doubt when I saw her walking down the aisle".
