Carly + Jordan's Sweet and Fun Wedding

From the Bride: We started out our day getting ready at a historic Kentucky home in downtown Lexington. It was beautifully lit and was an amazing backdrop for so many sweet memories, like reading the letters that my best friend and my sister wrote me to read that morning before everything started. Jordan had prayed over a word that would be on my wedding bracelet made by Created Bracelets - something I had been so excited to see for weeks! Growing up in Lexington, I was so thrilled to spend the morning in a town that I love so much and that is so special to my heart.

Our wedding day far exceeded our expectations. Even though it was the hottest day of the year, we hardly even noticed. Being a part time wedding coordinator, I wanted to design and put together the reception space that was fun for us and our guests, from the bourbon tasting bar to the cake set up. My best friend, my mom and I spent the day before tying the head table napkins into knots and tying twine around the guest napkins. The farmhouse tables were set, our seating chart hand written on white window panes, and market lights strung right above the dance floor. For the longest time, I had wanted sage green, my favorite color, as our main color palette with white, full flowers and greenery for the tables, bridesmaids, and I. Our florist blew it out of the water with my dream summer flowers and a greenery chandelier that hung over the center of the barn - something I had in mind from the beginning. She also designed the cotton boutonnières, a Kentucky staple, for Jordan and his groomsmen.

I wore the Hayley Paige Dakota gown from Twirl Boutique that I had had my eye on for years! The cap sleeve was just my style and I knew it was the one and Jordan would love it. During our first look, our most favorite part of the day, we had the sweetest moments sharing how we had dreamed about this day for almost 4 years of dating through college. As I walked down the aisle just a little while later, hooked on my dad's arm, and walking towards the wooden cross that was beautifully decorated with a flower attachment that matched my bouquet, tears began streaming down our faces as the moment approached that we had looked forward to for so long. As the ceremony concluded and the reception began, guests were able to enjoy a Kentucky bourbon tasting with all of the signature bourbon staples. We wanted a summer wedding, but we chose July 20th specifically because of my grandma’s birthday. She turned 76 that day and we all sang happy birthday to her after our cake cutting. As nighttime approached, we strolled through the bloomed orchard while the sun set behind us. We still look at our photos daily and watch our video often.
