Sarah and Tyler's Western Kentucky Wedding
From the bride: On our wedding day, I figured we would miss out on the vibrant color Kentucky leaves and that it might be cold, but the peak foliage was late this year. We were blessed with a gorgeous day and the colorful leaves around the church couldn’t have been any prettier. Surrounded by my family and the best of friends, it was a day to remember. Our wedding photographer, who was my childhood best friend, was able to capture moments that I didn’t get to witness, including a photo of my dad praying before the ceremony. I could only imagine what he prayed for, but being able to keep that memory with me forever… I could not be more grateful. I think the most special moment of my wedding day was my first look with my dad and Tyler. It’s hard to put into the words the emotions that you feel during these personal moments, but true utter happiness is it what comes to mind.
One of the things that made our wedding so unique was the personal touch my family worked so hard on to make my wedding vision come true. My Aunt Melodie of Thomas Farms Lavender worked, alongside my grandmother and Aunt Tam, countless hours to create floral arrangements of dried flowers that they grew, dried and arranged. Not only that, but one of my party favors was culinary lavender and rosemary grown on her farm for guest to use when cooking to add a bold flavor! My matron of honor stayed up all night glittering pumpkins to add the perfect fall touch to the wedding, because who doesn’t love a little glitter! Our sweetheart table was handmade by my uncle and now rests in the heart of our home where we share meals together as a family! I could go on and on about all the personal touches that make our wedding unique, but these are a few of my favorites!
From the Groom: Sarah and I decided to do a first look, which I was hesitant about at first, but we didn’t have much of a choice because sunset was at 4:40 due to daylight savings time. Seeing her for the first time, my future wife, was everything I could have hoped for, and I think it helped calm my nerves so I was better able to live in the moment and witness and comprehend what our vows meant. Although very hard to choose just one moment, my favorite was looking into each other’s eyes and saying our vows when everything was quiet. The whole day was a deeply personal and emotional experience I will treasure forever.
