Madison + Chase's Lexington Wedding
From the Photographer: Madison & Chase are both originally from a small town in Eastern Kentucky (Hazard). They both have large families and love the community they grew up in. They wanted to include as many of their loved ones as possible so they planned a large wedding of 400 guests. After looking at many venues throughout Hazard & Lexington they decided on having the wedding in Lexington at Central Christian Church and the reception at the Carrick House due to the large number of guests they were expecting.
Even though the couple wasn’t able to be married in their hometown, they wanted their wedding to reflect who they were as a couple as well as their love for the family, friends and Kentucky. So the wedding was very “Kentucky Inspired”—From the music during the ceremony & cocktail hour which was a bluegrass band to the party favors which were personalized jars of moonshine for every guest.
The happy couple is known for their fun, care-free personalities and love to travel. They wanted this to also be represented in their special day. For the guest book, they used a globe by local Lexington artist Kayla Weber for their guests to sign. Madison wanted to make sure there were details in their wedding day that separated their event from others. The couple did exactly that with indoor fireworks when they were announced at the reception, as well as having a live painting during the reception. The night was a blast from beginning to end with the live band playing and everyone on the dance floor dancing the night away. To top it all off, Madison and Chase practiced their first dance for months before the wedding. It wasn’t just any dance, though. It was the dirty dancing dance! It was a memorable moment for the entire crowd, not just the bride and groom.
The most unique & heartwarming part of the entire day, however, was during the ceremony—the unity part involving the binding cloth. The cloth was made of a piece of Chase’s grandmother’s wedding dress (something old), both Madison & Chase’s grandfathers army medals, a piece of the groom’s mother’s dress (something borrowed), a piece of the maid of honor’s blue bridesmaid dress, and Madison’s grandmother’s blue earrings (something blue). Not to mention, there was also a locket from Madison’s brother & sister and Chase’s brother with an inscription to their first child on it to represent their “something new”.
