Holli + Forrest's Brunch Wedding
From the Bride: Our wedding was a morning brunch wedding. The ceremony began at 11AM. The bride is from Kentucky and the groom is from Tennessee. After booking a horse track wedding venue we realized this would be "the most Kentucky wedding ever". Our programs were newspapers titled "The Newleywed Post". We had crossword puzzles at each seat in the reception that included questions about both of us.
We had a donut cake complete with a cake stand handmade by the Groom and treat bags for to-go donuts that appropriately said "Holy Matrimony"
The officiant was the Governor of Tennessee, Bill Lee. The bride and groom both met working on the campaign to elect Governor Lee. We had brunch food including biscuits and gravy, a waffle bar, eggs and bacon. We also had a bloody mary and mimosa bar. Because it was a morning wedding we had lawn games out, including homemade cornhole boards with our monogram.
We had a tractor that belonged to the bride's great-grandfather. The bride's father and grandfather had restored the 1946 International Harvester tractor back to nearly original condition. This was in memory of the bride's late grandfather. The most unique part of our wedding is we did a "generations of love" display. We gathered wedding photos of our family members, including all four sets of great grandparents. These photos were on display along with names and relationships below to highlight all the love and example of marriage that surrounds us. We had wedding day coloring books and crayons for the kiddos. The Bride's favorite wedding day moment was seeing the groom's reaction as she walked down the aisle and the groom's favorite part was the first kiss.
