Priyanka + Pujan's Perfect Wedding

From the Bride: Our wedding was perfect and beautiful in every way we could have ever imagined. We wanted our wedding to have a fresh spring vibe (season of a new beginning), so we went for blush pink with rich greenery and neutral flower colors for our wedding and reception day. It was a perfect color combination.

Also, our wedding occurred on one of the most biggest snowfall days of the year. It came as a beautiful surprise as none of us expected to wake up to a big fluffy snow. We like to think of it as a beautiful blessing from God. The snow made our wedding more unique, memorable, and so so beautiful. Our outdoor weddings pictures and videos turned out to be perfect.

One of the emotional wedding moments for me was the ‘kanyadaan,’ meaning "giving away the daughter" in Sanskrit, is the final symbolic marriage ritual for the bride's parents. During this ritual, the bride’s father puts a ring on the groom’s finger before placing his daughter's hand into the groom’s. It is the moment in every wedding charged with emotions, as the father lets go and gives his beloved daughter into the care of another man, her husband, for the rest of her life. I cannot express the emotions that I felt at that specific moment. It was also the first time I cried (my husband got emotional too..haha) in the whole wedding process.

My favorite part was the 'pheras,' best translated as vows, which are seven promises made to one another as the couple encircles a sacred fire (Agni) seven times. During the circles, the couple promises each other happiness, care, courage, children, and eternal love. The seven vows and seven pheras are the most important rituals in a Hindu wedding as it sanctifies the union of two souls and gives social recognition to the wedding. Similar to 'I do' in western weddings. At that moment, I was married to the love of my life, and everything felt so surreal.
