Taylor and Brandon's Rustic Wedding

From the Bride: As I look back at our wedding, there are so many different parts that stand out to me that made our day so special. I feel like the biggest one was our venue. My parents created this beautiful cabin on our family land overlooking Lake Cumberland. Little did I know that this cabin would be a key part of our wedding. We were able to include our farm as a whole but also the different features within our cabin that we were able to include. A big unexpected part was the rain that ended up coming in for our special day. The rain did make our farm a fun but muddy mess, we were able to just go with it and make the most of our day. A funny point was that I told my dad I wanted to have it outside under the trees as we originally planned and as we were walking down the aisle, the rain came to a sprinkle and completely stopped for the rest of the evening.

There were so many details that I wanted to include and were able to bring to life. The sunflower bouquets that were made by my wedding planners, Anita and Amanda, were from a local farm in Somerset. Sunflowers were a huge detail that I imagined being a part of our wedding and I absolutely loved how they came together. Another detail was one that Brandon (my husband) wanted to include. He wears a brand of Happy Socks that display different colors and designs. He loves the comfort of them but also all the crazy designs. I purchased Brandon's for him (they were fishing baits since he loves to fish) but he also wanted to get his Groomsmen a pair since he loves wearing them! This was probably Brandon's favorite part was opening his and watching his Groomsmen get theirs. Our wedding cake topper was actually designed by me with my Cricut machine. This was something I wanted to personally do and I was able to create something to add to our cake. The fire truck that was located in the background of our pictures was a former fire truck that Pulaski County used. Due to my Dad being a retired Battalion Chief, he was able to obtain this truck to be an accent on our farm. My grandpa was able to marry us and I was the first grandchild that he had the privilege of marrying! This will always be something I cherish for years to come! Our food, a taco bar, was something I always wanted at my wedding! We both love tacos and Downtown Deli made it happen! It was so good!! The sparkle send-off ended up working out so well and made our pictures so awesome!!

Our unity was probably one of the most unique things that we were able to include. Our unity included a small plant that we are able to keep in our home and grow as a couple together. We put in our own "soil" that represents each of us becoming one. The plant is a special part in our home and was probably my most favorite part because it something we can keep and take care of together. The cross that was used in the center of our ceremony was one that was handmade by a family friend that both my brother and I were able to use in our weddings. We each wrote letters to one another since we did not want to do a first look. These letters were so special to us and will be something we can remember and hold on to from our day. Our wedding day is something that I don't think I will ever forget because all of these special details came together and made it unforgettable!!
