Danielle and Robert's 28 Day Perfect Wedding

From the bride: What an adventure that led us here. 11 years (accumulative), the birth of our daughter, up hills and smooth waters. From the longest road, to the quickest jump to the altar! While Myla (our amazing daughter) and I were on a family reunion vacation in Alabama, Robbie picked out the ring, overnighted the diamond from New York, had it set, drove all night to the beach, and surprised us on our seashell hunt that August morning. Twenty five of my family members got to witness the moment, the real beginning to our forever. It was perfect.

From there, we knew we didn't want to wait. We were ready. So, I began planning for an October destination beach wedding. I booked a wedding planner and all. One of my best friends reminded me of a venue she knew I loved.. I had never been there, but the pictures I saw of another wedding there took my breath away. She urged me to call and check for availability and the game suddenly changed. September 15th.. I had 28 days! Challenge accepted! Don't get me wrong, it was a lot of work, a total lack of sleep, and ton of help from one of my best friends (among many others), but everything seemed to fall into place, and we knew that was a sign. When it came to my dress, I found a dress that fit straight off the rack and needed around an inch of alterations total. It just fit, and as my family and friends said "that dress just picked you." From there, all the pieces fell into place - our church pastor was available, the wedding DJ had a cancellation for that night, my dream makeup artist was in town from Florida, my close friend was able to do my hair, the cake lady was a go, my other dear friend and her husband could cater the food (which they never do I later found out), and my dad's band member (who has known me since birth) could sing our way down the aisle. My friend, and ridiculously talented photographer could capture every moment for us, including the engagement photos which were beyond perfection, and can't be put into words. She referred the wonderful videographer, who was also available somehow in this short time frame. Everything was meant to be, and the universe, and God, made sure we knew and followed it. My mother-in-law works at a flower shop and helped make my flowers so stunning and everything I could ever ask for. Dad's band member and friend learned a song (that I have loved since high school), and sang it better and more beautiful than I could have imagined. The song played during the seating was one of my mother's all time favorite artists.

Dad and I walked hand in hand, fingers locked, rather than arm in arm. At sunset pictures, Robbie read vows that he wrote to me on a hilltop. Horses were galloping through pastures surrounding us during the ceremony, while we stood next to our two sisters each, my nephew, and best of all, our daughter. Our pastor added such a personal touch as well, for the church and God brought us back together, and to this place. The sun was shining, surrounded by the bluegrass, 150 loved ones, happy tears, and pure happiness. There was no first look, which made it so special for us. Robbie wanted to see Myla and I both for the first time walking down the aisle. Let's just say he was a beautifully tearful, crying joyful tears MESS. Our first dance song was one we used to dance in the living room to, all night long. Every detail was so personal, so meaningful, so US and just PERFECT. This 28 day wedding was truly a dream, and more than I thought we would ever have, better than my thoughts could create, and pure magic. We are both born and raised in Kentucky, and this is exactly where we needed to begin our journey into our forever. Our real life fairytale…our true Southern wedding.
