Whitney and Tyler's Winter Wedding
Whitney and Tyler’s Pikeville Wedding
From the bride: Our special day was a cozy and intimate winter wedding. It was a mixed style of rustic and glam. We tied together the warm rustic feel of winter in the mountains using winter evergreens with accents of wood and brick. We also tied in the holiday season using golds and silvery grays as well as luxe velvet and sequined textures and the colors of deep red, burgundy, white, and blush pink. At the time I was in the process of just starting up my own floral and event design business so I used my own wedding as my first big event. I planned and designed everything and my family helped me make it all happen. My aunt was my right hand woman when it came to helping me do the florals. Along with us, were my parents, brother, Tyler - the groom, my grandmother, other aunt, mother of the groom, cousins, and best friends all teamed up to make it all happen and complete everything. It was awesome and made it all extra special!
During getting, we had a cake pull for my bridesmaids and flower girl. My grandmother made the delicious bundt cake. Everyone had fun pulling out their ribbon with a cute charm attached and finding out what different meanings and good fortunes their charms stood for. The groom and his guys got ready at the venue, and had Kentucky bourbon glasses in hand from Kentucky Branded except for one groomsman due to an inside joke, he had a Yeti. My father and I had a sweet first look, however; Tyler and I kept it traditional in not seeing one another before the ceremony. I will never forget the feeling of that moment when my father and I walked down the aisle and seeing Tyler for the first time that day. The ceremony took place at dusk with an ambiance of glowing string lights and candles. The copper ceremony frame was made by my father. For the florals that decorated it we gathered some local natural grown greenery and accented it with some fresh flowers.
After the ceremony, Tyler and I went to take our bride and groom pictures downtown as the guests were welcomed to a variety of delicious appetizers. We then came back and made our grand entrance as Mr. & Mrs. Then we all enjoyed a delicious dinner, music, and fun. Our beautiful and delicious cake sat on a suspended table that my father made. We also had a dessert bar made up of decadent sweets made by my grandmother and mother. We wrapped up the evening with a sparkler send off.
