Evan and Dakota's Family Fun Wedding
Evan and Dakota’s Livery Wedding
From the bride: My wedding was perfect for Dakota and I and all of the little details made it so much more special! One of my favorite parts of our wedding was the 6 foot wreath that hung on the wall where the ceremony took place. My grandma was the officiant, which was another thing that made the ceremony even more special. For our celebration of unity we both added soil to a little bonsai plant, I love this idea because we still have our plant and it is a daily reminder of the commitment we made to each other. Dakota and I both love Mexican food so for the reception we had a taco bar with chips and salsa, and for guests who didn't care for Mexican food we served BBQ. Dakota is from North Carolina and I am from Kentucky so we tried to incorporate that theme into our wedding. We served Ale-8 (representing KY) and Cheerwine (representing NC) in glass bottles and featured handmade wooden cutouts of NC and KY on our head table and a few other places throughout the venue.
Jessica at Blooms ‘N Blossoms did a wonderful job with our floral arrangements and made a beautiful garland for our head table along with a flower crown for me. For entertainment we had an awesome DJ, a photo booth, and balloon man - who was a crowd favorite, especially with the kids. The whole day from start to finish was a blast. My favorite wedding day moment was when my 74 year old grandma got caught up in the joy of the wedding and started dancing with her cane; all the wedding guests circled around her and cheered her on! I am so glad the photographers Joey and Lauren were able to capture it on camera. My best advice for brides to be is to really savor the day when it comes, my wedding day passed so quickly I feel like I didn't ever stop to soak in the beauty of all the little moments.
